HOW TO MEDITATE ON GOD’S WORD
with
Apostle Arome Osayi
What is the practice of meditation?
Pondering over the word, that’s what we were taught in school but that’s not true. It’s not pondering, it’s not a mental thing. It’s more vocal than mental.
You say it out to yourself. When you keep saying it to yourself, a time will come that you will believe it because that word will lock in your heart.
Say it, hear it. Jesus said before I come, give attention to reading. Read the scriptures out to hear.
Do you remember the European Eunuch, he was reading it aloud, that was why Philip was able to come and say, “Understandest what thou readest?”
“I can be saying scriptures from here to Abuja, if I am traveling by car, that’s why I enjoy journeys. I was flying to London, we just entered and, something was on my heart and I was praying it, brooding on it. I didn’t know when they said, “Put on your seatbelt, we’re about to land” – Apostle Arome Osayi
You say it, it’s deliberate. If you have exercised your spirit in meditation, you will never lack inspiration.
Say it to yourself until you don’t need to say it out such that you can keep saying it in your mind.
“Thy word have I hidden in my heart, that I might not sin.”
Those scriptures that you have meditated upon, are your weaponry the day that the devil comes to tempt you because whether you like it or not, there’s a plan in the kingdom of darkness to empty you but it’s those scriptures that you have deliberately meditated upon that will become part of your arsenal. It will rise up to your rescue on the day of trouble.
So you will need to train your spirit deliberately.
